Trustee Board Appointments

The Fairbanking Foundation announces that Sue Lewis and Adam Moy have joined their Trustee Board

Sue Lewis and Adam Moy have joined the Fairbanking Foundation charity Trustee board following our Annual General Meeting on 28 November 2018. Sue and Adam bring significant experience of consumer advocacy, financial services, public policy and charity governance. Their contribution will strengthen the Trustee board at a key stage in the charity’s development. Founded 10 years ago with the mission to improve the financial well-being of consumers, the charity’s Fairbanking Marks have already been awarded to financial products used by more than 20 million consumers. The Fairbanking Mark tells consumers that a product has features which are proven through rigorous independent assessment to help them manage and stay in control of their money. The charity also undertakes research into and provides advice on how products and services to consumers can be improved.

Teresa Perchard, Chair of the Fairbanking Foundation said:

‘We are absolutely delighted that Sue and Adam have agreed to join the charity Trustee board to help guide our strategy and future work. The charity has already achieved a huge amount in its ambitious mission to improve the financial well-being of consumers. But there is much further to go. Sue and Adam’s significant experience, knowledge and insight into consumers and financial services, personal debt and financial exclusion will really help us in charting our future strategy and work programme. All the Trustees, staff and associates of the charity are really looking forward to working with them.’

Sue Lewis said:

‘I am really pleased to be joining the Fairbanking Foundation Trustee board in its 10th anniversary year to help widen and deepen the impact of the charity’s work for consumers in the coming years. I know from my work as Chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel that there remains a significant need for financial institutions to treat their customers fairly. Among other things this means ensuring their products and services help customers to manage their money and avoid getting into debt. The Fairbanking Foundation can help many more financial institutions do the right thing for customers.’

‘I am really pleased to be joining the Fairbanking Foundation Trustee board at this time. From my many years’ experience in the financial services sector and my own research into financial exclusion, I know that there is a significant need for the work that the Fairbanking Foundation does. As a Trustee I look forward to collaborating widely across the sector and wish to see that work expand and grow, making more impact for more consumers. ‘
