We are currently seeking Trustees to strengthen our charity trustee board.

Trustee, The Fairbanking Foundation

Improving the financial well-being of consumers informs all that the charity does. Our primary activities are as a well-established and highly regarded UKAS endorsed accreditation scheme. The scheme is for financial products that are proven to help consumers manage their money and avoid getting into debt. We also have a growing research and advisory service. More than 20 million consumers today are using financial products that have gained a Fairbanking Mark.

Trustees govern the charity, set the direction, approve the business plan and budget, annual report and accounts. We provide support and advice to the team of staff, associates and volunteers who work for the charity and ensure the charity is managing risks effectively and complying with its obligations.

The charity currently has annual income around £300k/£350k and our strategy is to increase our work in all areas and increase this in the coming years. Time commitment for Trustees is around 1 day every two months. Meetings are held in London (half day) and Trustees are asked to comment and advise on some matters by email and teleconferences between meetings. There are occasional opportunities to represent the charity externally at events. The role is unremunerated but travel expenses to attend meetings will be reimbursed.

We are looking to recruit additional Trustees who in addition to a genuine interest in our work may have a wide range of experience that could assist the charity to grow - including experience of charity governance, fundraising and partnership development, marketing and communications, accreditation schemes, research, retail financial services, consumer behaviour, particularly in relation to personal finance/money management.
