Trustee Board Appointment

The Fairbanking Foundation announces award winning journalist Lesley Curwen joins its Trustee board

The Fairbanking Foundation charity announces that award winning campaigning journalist Lesley Curwen has joined its Trustee Board. Founded 10 years ago with the mission to improve the financial well-being of consumers, the charity’s Fairbanking Marks have already been awarded to financial products used by more than 20 million consumers. The Fairbanking Mark tells consumers that a product has features which are proven through rigorous independent assessment to help them manage and stay in control of their money. The charity also undertakes research into and provides advice on how products and services to consumers can be improved.

Teresa Perchard, Chair of the Fairbanking Foundation said:
‘I am absolutely delighted that Lesley has agreed to become a Trustee of the Charity at this critical stage in our development.  After 10 years working to improve the financial well-being of consumers our rigorous independent accreditation of financial products – Fairbanking Marks – now covers 35 products used by 20 million consumers.  But there is much more we need and want to do.  Lesley’s outstanding track record campaigning to get greater transparency and better deals for consumers of financial services will further strengthen our board as we plan for the future.’

Lesley Curwen said:
‘'I'm excited to join the Fairbanking Foundation which robustly accredits banking products that help consumers manage their money.’
