Holidays, homes and rainy days

RBS/Natwest Saving Index Survey finds that homes, holidays and rainy days are the most popular savings goals across the UK.

The number one goal across the country differs; with Scots more likely to save for a holiday than a home, while Londoners number one saving goal is a home, and rainy day savings coming in a close second.

Allan Hardie, Head of Savings at Royal Bank of Scotland said: “Our Savings Goal tool is proving extremely popular. It’s designed to help customers save more and achieve their goals. Simply setting a goal helps to develop a savings habit and leads to customers saving twice as much as those without a goal.”

David Coe, CEO of the Fairbanking Foundation said: “Mobile Banking makes saving easier than ever because you can create a goal, set up automatic monthly saving and track progress in just a few clicks. We welcome Royal Bank of Scotland’s Savings Index which along with these easy to use tools will further focus people’s attention on saving for the things they want in life.”

You can access the Savings Goal Tool and create your own goals if you have an Instant Saver account with RBS or NatWest. Both of these savings accounts have 5* Fairbanking Marks so you can be assured these accounts give you a fair deal.
